My journey to LA thus far (if you care to read):
I left Grand
Rapids, Michigan at the end of August. I was originally going to
go with a friend, but he wimped out on me. So I took off, just
me and my '96 Chevy Lumina, across America. It wasn't as boring
as I thought it'd be. I would drive about 12 hours, and sleep in
my car, then wake up, and hit the road. I'd park in hotel
parking lots, as I thought they'd be safer than in some alley.
Then I'd act as a hotel guest and eat some breakfast, then take
off. Pretty sneaky, I know. Anyways, I got to LA in 2.5 days.
The guy whose house I was crashing on didn't come home from work
for another 2 hours. So I decide to park my car in the shade,
which I found this empty basement parking lot. I parked there
for less than 1 minute, and I heard this shackle sound. I got
out of my car, and realized that someone had accidentally locked
me in. So I stood in front of the gates, thinking of all the bad
things that could happen to me. Keep in mind that this was my
first 5 minutes in LA. I was thinking how a bunch of gangsters
were gonna come over and beat the crap out of me. Fortunately, some
guy came to the barred window and said he worked there. So he
got his boss to open the gate. Whew. I will never park in a
parking lot again by myself again!
...more to come
